The Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam is administered by the National Conference of Bar Examiners and the Law School Admission Council.

The MPRE is required for admission to the California Bar and the bars of all but three U. jurisdictions (Maryland, Wisconsin, and Puerto Rico). The purpose of the MPRE is to measure the examinee’s knowledge and understanding of established standards related to a lawyer’s professional conduct. There are 50 scored questions and 10 nonscored pretest questions.

If you don’t follow directions and spend time on uncontested issues, you are robbing yourself of time you should be spending on issues presented by the call of the question. It’s important to make clear to the examiners that you can effectively communicate the law and its application to clients and judges; it’s not enough to just spew everything you know about a certain subject onto the page.

Read every bar exam question carefully to ensure that you understand what, exactly, is being asked.The primary distinction between the MEE and the Multistate Bar Examination (MBE) is that the MEE requires the examinee to demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively in writing.You know everything there is to know about quorums.Each jurisdiction grades the MEE and determines its own policy with regard to the relative weight given to the MEE and other scores.Jurisdictions that administer the Uniform Bar Examination weight the MEE component 30%The purpose of the MEE is to test the examinee’s ability to (1) identify legal issues raised by a hypothetical factual situation; (2) separate material which is relevant from that which is not; (3) present a reasoned analysis of the relevant issues in a clear, concise, and well-organized composition; and (4) demonstrate an understanding of the fundamental legal principles relevant to the probable solution of the issues raised by the factual situation.Applicants will be required to connect to the Internet on Tuesday and Thursday following the exam to upload their exam answers. You should not construe registration for use of your laptop as confirmation that you have satisfied these conditions and qualify to sit for the exam.A nonrefundable 1 fee is required to register with Exam Soft for use of your laptop at the exam. IMPORTANT NOTE: Before you are qualified to sit for an exam, you must satisfy all of the pre-exam conditions required in Gov. I (e.g., receive final character and fitness approval, file certifications that you received a J. Qualified applicants will receive confirmation of their eligibility to sit, along with their exam instructions, approximately two weeks before the exam.Bar Examination Laptop Program The Ohio Board of Bar Examiners is permitting the use of laptop computers to answer the written (essay and MPT) portions of the July 2019 Ohio bar examination. Applicants who choose to answer the written portion of the exam on a laptop must use their own laptop computers with Exam Soft’s Examplify™ software technology.This technology provides a word processing function during the exam while blocking access to all other programs, files, and the Internet.
